Progress can only happen if you start

I’m going to get real here. I’m writing right now because for some inexplicable reason, people keep subscribing to this blog in spite of it only featuring a new post every 3-4 months. So here I am in the bed again on a Saturday night wondering what I have in my head to share.

By now you all know the answer is absolutely nothing. And I appreciate you sticking around to read this.

I realised that the majority of my struggles are tied to a lack of self-control. I bite my nails, I give businesses free money to help with my weight-loss, I eat an entire pack of chips in five minutes without batting an eye…the list goes on to my deep humiliation. I figured I had to practise abstaining.

Let me tell ya: I started drinking warm fennel water that I make at home.

  • In 2l water, add 1 tbsp fennel seeds.
  • Bring it to boil
  • Strain and enjoy! (Btw, I’ve been reminded by my boys – I am drinking piss from a bottle). That hasn’t stopped me.

Result: Reduced bloating. Down 1.5kgs in one week.

You know, just saying. Progress can only happen if you start.

I hope to hear from you. And thanks for all your support thus far.

Honestly assessing my imbalances

You might be wondering how my weight-loss adventure went and you might be wondering what has brought me to the surface. The answer to the former is that I failed miserably and the answer to the latter is that things are pretty bad and this is a cry for help.

Working long hours on the job, I had a mental breakdown leaving me more vulnerable to cravings for unhealthy foods. I fell off the wagon – tbh! I gained 5kgs, I am not surprised.

No one is perfect. What matters is that you keep trying!

Oh and the good news – I resigned from my job last week after 8years.

So, here I am. I would like to believe that a status update is the next step in propelling me back into the ring.

So here’s my plan

  • Start analysing myself and my trouble spots in life – and pay attention to the interactions between various sectors such as work, home, relationships and money.
  • Keep it simple – especially the exercises
  • Rework my nutrition – yuss!

Here are a few examples of good things I personally think that doing every single day would help make me a more balanced, healthy version of myself:

  • Eating breakfast
  • Brushing my hair, oh also my 🦷
  • Prayer/Meditation
  • Exercise/Stretching/Dancing
  • Master one yoga posture
  • Moisturise
  • Self affirmation

Psst: I have a long list of ideas for daily habits, but I could use more. What do you think is a daily habit of a well-balanced person?

Hop onboard … more info to share!

Love ya,

Priya!

What’s my plan?

I spend more and more time reading about weight loss and healthy living, and was doing nothing about it. Because of menopause (TMI , I know!) my body is constantly changing. Holding the extra weight is challenging, with constant knee or body aches so I decided to do something about it.

I also saw my beautiful sister (from another mother) Paddy post her pics on Facebook. I was very intrigued to know about her transformation.

It is time I did something for myself. So here is what I am going to do…

My Plan

I am starting on a healthy living journey on 5 Jan 2021.

Here I will post:

1. Weekly progress of my body weight and measurements (may be some pics to support the transformation)

2. Daily eating plan with recipes

3. My personal journey (good or bad)

Hope this will help some of you!💕

Stay calm and breathe!!
